In the middle of the lockdown, BrainTrainUK’s founder & Managing Director Stuart Black was watching a Facebook Question & Answer meeting with Surrey County Council (SCC)’s Cabinet.
In the Facebook meeting, Gracie’s mum Liani asked a desperate question about getting help for her daughter. She had tried CAMHS and received no useful help.
Stuart has a particular interest in SCC’s ability to deliver Children’s Services and Children’s Mental Health support.
SCC Children’s Services have been assessed as Inadequate by OFSTED for many years and Stuart has direct experience of what that feels like as a kinship carer on 3 children of a friend who died in 2017.
Surrey Children’s Mental Health Services has a similar reputation and our efforts to engange with decision-makers and practitioners has not been reciprocated.
BrainTrainUK reached out to Liani and invited her and Gracie to come and see us at our clinic in Egham.
Gracie’s story picks at this point …
We are open to discussion with CAMHS in Surrey and beyond about inegrating our service into their offer.
